The diaries start late this year, partly because a lot has had to be done
in preparation for setting up two webcams. Also I am no longer a stay at home bird watcher!! The original
Blue tit box has been moved close to where we saw Great tits nesting last year. We enlarged the entrance
to the size for Great tits. We installed this new box in the position of last years Blue tit box.

The Blue tits are rare visitors to this new high tech box. They seem to be seriously contemplating building a nest
in the box we hoped the Great tits would occupy.

Although the blue tits are nesting in the other box at the moment there continue to be visits to this box now and then.
Perhaps it is a different bird.

S/he returned a week later just to check up!

Nesting in the other box seems to have stopped, but we are encouraged to see some interest in here still.
However time is getting on. By this time last year the nest box was almost full !! Maybe the birds are confused at having a choice.

Today was very busy for us and the birds.
We were preparing to go to a pre-Easter family gathering when we suddenly noticed things happening in both nest boxes.
Lots of mossy material rapidly had appeared in the hitherto empty box and we had some stunning Great tit images in the Blue tit box.
For a while we didn't want to leave our own nest!!!
