Mr Blue, father-in-waiting enquires how much longer?

Some time later she calls to him urgently "Come Quick! Come Quick!"

The 1st chick emerges and Mum removes the egg-shell.

She removes more egg-shell as another chick emerges.
|

Is that a caterpillar each or two ends of the same one?
Two bits of the same one, I think.

Mrs Blue listens for more chicks making ready to hatch.
|

They seem to consult over the care of their offspring, putting their heads together in attending to the needs of the hatchlings.
Only the best green caterpillars are used.
Large, plump and juicy!!

More chicks hatch throughout the day and the business of feeding and eggshell removal continues.
They seem to be a confident and well matched pair. Are they Mr. and Mrs Blue of last year?
Well, that was a long and busy day!! I think I'll nip out for a quick breather!!
